About Us
The Municipal Building and Municipal Auditorium (GMA) was built in 1939 as a public works project of the Roosevelt administration. The Auditorium has 1,400 theater-style seats and has hosted a wide variety of artists for the past 80 years from Elvis Presley to Duke Ellington.
Today the Auditorium hosts a multitude of events including symphony concerts, country shows, plays, musicals, dance recitals, and much more. Several different organizations present series of shows each year. The GMA also has the pleasure to welcome the Dallas Symphony Orchestra for three performances each year as well. Greenville is the only community outside of Dallas to have this exclusive deal with the DSO. Each Summer, Greenville Family Theatre brings a major musical production to the stage, and Greenville Theatre Works presents three different plays each season. Overall, we offer entertainment for every taste and hope to see you at a show soon!
